We are beach people in heart and this little lady loves everything animals, oceans, and farms. Here is a picture of my daughters’ new binder for this school year.

If you want to be able to download an image or need a place to start check out the storefronts for both Silhouette and Cricut ( Shop Cartridges & Images at Cricut! ), they are filled with thousands of pre-made images ready for you to download. This is the best supply and the most fun to use! If you love to make your own images and expressions you can have a field day with this project. The last supply you will need is your child and her imagination.

Right now Cricut is having a BOGO sale so you can grab all the supplies you need and save at the same time!!! Click HERE or on the photo below to check out this deal! You can also use the coupon code AUGSHIP to receive free shipping on all (US & Canada) orders of $99+ You will also need transfer tape which is also widely available. There are a bunch of options out there for vinyl, but my favorite types are from Expressions Vinyl ( Click Here To Visit Expressions Vinyl) or from Cricut itself ( Click here to see the Cricut Vinyl). You will also need a binder and some vinyl. My two favorite machines are from Silhouette (I have a Cameo) and Cricut (the Maker is on my wish list!). I have used both and would highly recommend them. You will have a great afternoon getting to know your child more while you empower them to explore and embrace who they are, and maybe become addicted to vinyl too! So let’s get started…you will need to have a vinyl cutting machine (or be really good with a pair of scissors!). We did not use fancy techniques and tools because I want you and your child to replicate this together. Actually it is so easy I am letting my older girls add vinyl to binders and other supplies on their own, I am just here to help. One of the things I love about working with vinyl is that it is relatively easy. It is all in theory, but so far it is working! My son did not use a binder so we made him happy with some black vinyl and his old pencil pouch! This will hopefully cultivate a love of learning in my children. If they have supplies in front of them that make them happy, I think they will enjoy using them and school in general. So, I applied this reasoning to my children and school. I want them to ENJOY IT and dare I say, HAVE FUN LEARNING!!! I know that I have more fun creating when I am inspired & surrounded by things that make me happy. Why? For me, it is because I want my children to WANT to go to school. Just as school supplies are essential, when it comes to my kids, it is essential that what they use at school represents their who they are and what they like. Read more about why & how we do this in the post 8 Back To School Supplies You Should NOT Buy (click on this link).
I do not buy very many school supplies because I decided long ago that I would rather recycle what is sent home at the end of the year. So, this year I let my kids personalize their school supplies and add vinyl to binders, pencil pouches, folders and even their foreheads!Įvery year we get a list and start checking off all the items that our children will need to be successful throughout the year. They do this through the clothing and the supplies they carry with them. My older girls are in Middle school and they want to stand out as individulas.
You can find ones that are not, but they tend to be expensive, less functional, and the same as the one on the desk next to you. School supplies are essential and the binder is the top dog for older kids! Useful binders are actually pretty boring. I am sharing these links with you because I want to share the companies and/or products that I love with you.*
